7. Launched east crews to cover downed Sidewinder 4. Crews stood ground alert at NKP. Pilot never came up beeper and no chute. Position 115/85/89.
9. A-1H Firefly 43 at 038/11/108. LtCol Campbell's first pickup. PJ went down to get him out of trees.
11. Raven 47 down. BUFFs launched but Air America made pick up.

18. Lt Col Mateer land at LS2 to pick up pilot of Sandy aircraft that had just crash landed there. Lt Col Mateer was in "T" orbit.
19. L/Col Mateer hit rice mill at 98 with JG77.
20. Lt Col Mateer repeated the mission above.
24. Col Aswad visits 40th for familiarzation (Vice Com/ARRS)
27. Capt Reader made pickup of OV-10 pilot (Nail 35) at 300/05/89.
Capt Brown made pickup of F-105 pilot (Cockie 02) at 040/68/108
28. Capt Bell and crew shot down by Mig (JG71). The SAR forces were orbiting over the fence in support of a mission to save a down F-105. The fighter was making runs on a SAM.
29. Received JG80 & 81. New aircraft.
30. Sawadii to Capt Reader, Maj Patterson,
Capt Cardy, and Capt Bright. Party held at old hootch.
