National Museum of the USAF Request

I was recently contacted by Jeff Duford, SEA Gallery Currator, at the National Museum of the USAF concerning the whereabouts of the Jolly Green Giant statue that made its way around SEA.  Here's what he looks like:

The NMUSAF is currently redesigning the entire South East Asia Gallery.  As such, they have made the decision that only items actually in SEA will be displayed.  This means the Jolly Green cutout that was promintly display will be removed.  It was donated by me on behalf of the 305th RQS when it was deactivated in 1992 and no longer quals for being in the exhibt.

The NMUSAF would really like to have the Jolly in the picture donated to them for the new exhibt.  Somewhere, someplace, someone has this artifact.  And let's face it, none of us SEA guys are getting any younger.  While we all like to hang on to our treasures, at some point we will no longer be here.  The NMUSAF will.  What will happen to those treasures once you are gone?  If you have this statue, or you know who does, please ask them to contact Jeff.  Even if it means it is donated in a will, you will make them very happy, and it will ensure our story continues to be told.

If you have other SEA items you would be willing to donate, contact Jeff.  Preserve our history.
