05/0831Z: CR-2 (from Crown 02)=Red Dog Lead and Marlin lead in trouble. Location unknown.
0832Z: CR-2=Both aircraft punched out, location unknown.
0840Z: JG56/37 launched to location 049/86/CH97 (I convert to 212324N 1045242E, CH 97 was Lima site 85 on Phou Pha Thi).
0845Z: Compress=Red Dog Lead - two good chutes - location 2120N/10514.
0852Z: Wildcat=Visual on ground on Marlin - In trees - appears to be OK.
0858Z: JG56/37 ETA fence 0920Z.
0858Z: CR-2=Marlin lead on side of hill, chute concealed in trees.
0901Z: CR-2=To JG56 and 37 have border clearance.
0904Z: CR-2=Hornet and Scotch flights moving into area.
0907Z: JG-56 to CR-2, JG56 will bingo at 1000Z to get back to L-36.
0908Z: CR-2 from Compress, advise JG-37 low bird.
0910Z: CR-2=Scotch flight will bingo at 0945Z.
0911Z: CR-2=JG56 + JG37 ETA area 0945Z.
0915Z: Compress= JG37 will bingo at 1105Z, the can not raise L-36 to advise them to use lights.
0917Z: Maj Roy told Queen to JG-56 on flight as long as possible. Bingo estimate for JG-56 basis for punching tanks.
0921Z: 7th AF Col Beckham= One RESCAP has voice contact with Marlin Lead.
0924Z: CR-2=Scotch has voice with Marlin Lead.
0931Z: CR-2=Aircraft in area of Marlin Lead.
0932Z: CR-2 to Compress. Good voice with Red Dog 3, trying to confirm position.
0933Z: CR-2=Sandys over Marlin Lead.
0934Z: Compress advises JG-56 will make pickup of Marlin Lead due to fuel. They will try to use JG-37 to pickup Red Dog.
0938Z: CR-2 advises Red Dog at 2130N 10514E on east side of River. Maj Roy asked 7th, Maj Beckham for permission to pick up Red Dog.
0945Z: CR-2=Marlin Lead advises he has a bad elbow and ankle, but is OK.
0946Z: Queen advises Red Dog has two good beepers.
0949Z: CR-2 advises JG-37 making pickup, aircraft sees smoke.
0950Z: CR-2=Red Dog Flight has two good beepers, no voice, flight is returning to base now.
0954Z: CR-2 advised by Compress to have JG-56 make pickup of Marlin Lead.
0959Z: CR-2 advises JG-37 had chute in sight, sill pick up Marlin Lead.
1003Z: Maj Selch advised 7th that we can not pickup Red Dog Lead.
1007Z: CR-2 advises JG-37 has Marlin Lead aboard, JG-37 and 56 Return To Base at this time.
1011Z: Queen advises pilot of Marlin Lead in condition two.
1014Z: Compress advises JG-37 will refuel and go to Channel 89, JG-56 will go to L-98, ETA 1155Z.
1023Z: CR-2 advises all forces RTB'd
1028Z: Compress advisses JG-37 will return to L-36 in morning. Aircraft from Takhli will pick up survivor of Marlin Lead at Channel 89 (NKP).
1040Z: Queen advises Sandy 6 jumped by MIG, hits unknown at this time.
1042Z: Queen advises Sandy 6 OK, no hits, Olds flight is flying CAP.
1157Z: JF-56 advises he will climb to altitude over L-98 and check fuel, if he has the fuel he will go to CH-86 (Udorn).
1107Z: Compress advises Sandy will go to CH-86 due no MX at CH-89.
1108Z: CR-2 advises Alfa Romeo, JG-37 ETA CH89 1230Z.
1115Z: JG-56 will land at L-98.
1134Z: JG-56 advises he has 1200 pounds of uel and will try to go to CH86.
1147Z: JG-56 advises he is over L-96 with 1350 pounds fuel, will go to CH86 if he can get clearance through circle.
1152Z: JG-56 cleared through circle, advised to stay high, ETA CH86 1245Z.
1221Z: Called Compress and clarified call sign on Red Dog to be Red Dog 4.
1257Z: JG-56 arrived CH86.

Red Dog open mission
06/0127Z: From 7th Maj Sullivan - no beeper, no voice, no nothing on Red Dog 04, RTB all SAR Forces. Compress and Queen were advised. No SAR force committed.

Note: Red Dog 04 was an F-105F, Maj Richard A. Dutton, pilot, and Capt Earl G. Cobeil, Navigator. The crew awas captured, Major Dutton returned at Home Coming, Capt Cobeil died in captivity on 5 Nov 1970 and his remains were returned in April 1974.
